2015 was a banner year for Jeep® vehicles. In addition to refining and improving its flagship vehicles, the Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Wrangler, the automaker also saw its sales soar. There’s little doubt that these strong sales are due to the fact that Jeep is not a company to sit on its laurels and release the same cars year after year, instead preferring to keep innovating and adding new technologies to its vehicles. Indeed, December represented another record month for Jeep, as three of its vehicles set sales records.
Here at Village Motors Inc., these sales numbers hit close to home, as Millersburg drivers flocked to our dealership to see what the 2016 Jeep Wrangler, 2016 Jeep Cherokee, and 2016 Jeep Compass had to offer. These new Jeep SUVs led the way for Jeep to increase its sales an astounding 42 percent in December. There are certainly a number of reasons for these sales numbers – the holiday season, low fuel costs, an improved economy – but there’s no doubt that these cars wouldn’t have sold as well if they weren’t filled with cutting-edge technologies, efficient, powerful powertrains, and exterior style.
In addition to these soaring December sales, Jeep also announced its yearly totals. For 2015, the Jeep brand increased its sales around 25 percent, selling a total of 865,000 vehicles. The new and improved 2016 Jeep Cherokee sold 220,260 vehicles while the Wrangler sold 202,702. These record-setting sales also led to record production. The total number of Jeep vehicles assembled in 2016 was an all-time record, even surpassing World War II when Jeep vehicles were assembled en masse to help with the war effort.
