After months of anticipating and patient waiting, the 2016 RAM 1500 is finally here. That’s right, the much ballyhooed follow-up to the award-winning 2015 iteration of the light duty pickup truck is right here at Village Motors Inc. If you’re looking for a big, powerful truck with plenty of interior amenities and an efficient diesel engine, look no further than the 2016 RAM 1500, because it has all that and more. Of course, along with the new RAM 1500 are new versions of the even more powerful RAM 2500 and RAM 3500, and we have those in our inventory as well!
Perhaps the biggest innovation of 2015 RAM 1500 trucks was the economical EcoDiesel engine. For the 2016 model year, this gamechanging engine returns to all versions of the RAM truck, and it’s better than ever before. This year, the EcoDiesel is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that cranks out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-per-foot of torque and is mated to a smooth TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. But the biggest draw of the EcoDiesel is just how efficient it is, achieving up to 29 miles per gallon on the highway. Last year, the EcoDiesel was the most fuel-efficient engine found on a light duty pickup truck, and we don’t expect that to change for this year.
If you’re looking for a gasoline engine, there are options for you as well. First up is the base 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which was retooled for a six percent gain in fuel efficiency. For those desiring maximum power, there is a massive 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that cranks out an amazing 395 horsepower and 410 pound-per-foot of torque.
