The 2019 RAM 1500 eTorque combines the fun of a full-sized pickup truck with the luxury of advanced technology and a more efficient engine system.

If you haven’t heard about it already, the RAM 1500 eTorque engine is a “mild hybrid” vehicle, meaning it’s not 50/50 between gasoline and electric like a traditional hybrid. Despite being a semi-hybrid, it does effectively create a powerful engine with good gas mileage. It’s also cheaper than a traditional hybrid.
Engine Detail
The 3.6-;iter V6 engine puts out 90 lb-ft boost of torque, while the 5.7-liter V8 version produces an incredible 130 lb-ft boost. For thrill seekers, the V6 achieves 305 horsepower, and the V8 produces a powerful 395 horsepower.
Because of this high-volume build, the 2019 RAM 1500 achieves a carrying capacity of over 2,500 pounds more than its previous models. In addition, the towing capacity is now up to 12,750 pounds.
Smoother driving transitions
The new eTorque engine saves you some embarrassment when transitioning from idling to driving. Like with previous RAM 1500 models, the fuel saving system automatically turns the engine off when idling for a certain amount of time.
The new engine is designed to make the transition from off to on smoother, preventing you from looking like a bobble head.
