When it comes to Dodge vehicles, the Challenger is one of the automaker’s most storied. First building up its legacy in what many consider to be the golden era for muscle cars, the 1970s, the Challenger has made a triumphant return to the Dodge lineup in recent years. The Challenger is, at its heart, a scorching, pavement-burning muscle car, but for the 2016 version, Dodge added a ton of comfort and practical features to make it a top buy for Millersburg gearheads and everyday commuters alike.
Since most of the press about the 2016 Dodge Challenger is going to be about its engine options, we’ll start by talking about those. The base engine is a perfectly capable 3.6-liter V6 that produces 305 horsepower and 268 pound-per-foot of torque. Upgrading to the R/T, you’ll get a 5.7-liter V8 good for 375 horsepower and 410 pound-per-foot of torque. Like all versions of the Challenger, it is a rear-wheel-drive. The Scat Pack and SRT 392 come equipped with a huge 6.4-liter V8 cranking out 485 horsepower and 475 pound-per-foot of torque. At the top of the line lies the legendary Hellcat, which packs a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 good for 707 horsepower and 650 pound-per-foot of torque. This beast accelerates from zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.
In addition to its impressive engine array, this new Dodge vehicle also has a comfortable and feature-filled interior. Millersburg drivers will like the Cold Weather Group package that adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a more powerful alternator. Other option groups add features like an Alpine sound system, rearview camera, ventilated front seats, smartphone app integration, and satellite radio.
