The RAM 1500 name will be familiar to pickup truck fans, but the new 2017 iteration brings plenty of new features to the forefront, making it a top pick in the heavy-duty truck segment.
The 2017 RAM 1500 is a full-size pickup truck available in multiple body styles. Buyers can choose between three different cabs — regular, Quad, and Crew — as well as 10 trim levels and three bed sizes. If you’re looking for an introductory, affordable trim, check out the base Tradesman, which comes standard with 17-inch wheels, black bumpers/grille/door handles, a seven-pin wiring harness, a Class IV receiver hitch, a locking tailgate, a spray-in bedliner, vinyl upholstery, and a six-speaker sound system with a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack.
Under the hood of this new RAM truck for sale, you’ll find one of three different engines. First up is the standard 3.6-liter gasoline V6 engine that cranks out 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which is found paired with all three engines. Next up is a 5.7-liter V8 engine rated at 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Drivers looking for something a bit more fuel-efficient should look into the 3.0-liter diesel EcoDiesel V6 engine, which is rated at 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.
