75 years ago, it was 1941 and the United States was about to enter World War II. Around the same time, one of our favorite automakers, Jeep®, was about to get its start. As you may know, Jeep vehicles were first manufactured to aid with the war effort in Europe, and American troops found their off-road prowess invaluable in fighting for freedom. Now that it’s 2016, the Jeep has enjoyed 75 years of success, and the automaker is going to celebrate this milestone with a number of special edition versions of its flagship vehicles.
Here at Village Motors Inc., we are pleased to announce the Jeep Cherokee Overland and the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night, as well as limited edition anniversary models of the entire lineup. We’ll start by talking about the new Grand Cherokee SRT Night, which Jeep describes as “the fastest and most powerful Jeep ever.” The Night cloaks itself in all-black trim and is powered by a massive 6.4-liter V8 engine that cranks out 468 horsepower and 460 pound-per-foot of torque. This 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee will zoom from zero to 60 in under five seconds.
The new Cherokee Overland will be the new top-of-the-line version of the Cherokee. It will feature a 2.2-liter turbodiesel, and it will arrive in the US later this year. Millersburg comic book fans will be thrilled to hear about the new Renegade “Dawn of Justice” special edition model that is based on the upcoming Batman versus Superman movie. This car will boast a gray color scheme and blacked out accents.
